Canned butter and cheese group buy

I am organizing a group buy on Red Feather Brand canned butter and cheese. The price is $3.00 per can for the cheese and $4.50 per can for the butter and can be ordered by the can or the case of 36. These prices are a dollar less than anywhere I have found. Orders of twenty cases or more will be shipped to your home free of charge. All other orders will be available for pick-up in South Jordan or Lehi. Orders will be accepted until midnight Monday, 26 October and should be submitted by email. Payment must be submitted by midnight Wednesday, 28 October at by cash or check.

First, you’re probably surprised that you can even get butter and cheese in a can. Second, you’re probably thinking that it’s nasty. Well, to be honest, I haven’t tried it myself so I can’t say, but I’ve read enough favorable reviews and spoken to enough people that have that I’m convinced and will be adding some to my stores untasted. It’s interesting how things such as this as so common in other parts of the world and yet to foreign to most of us here in the United States.

This product comes from Australia and New Zealand. In a cool, dark place it should store indefinitely. I’m sure excited to have real butter and cheese to cook with instead of just the powders I have stored away. You can’t slice a powder and make a sandwich. You can’t spread a powder on hot, whole wheat griddle cakes. For additional product information, I suggest you view Internet Grocer’s product pages on canned cheese and butter, MRE Depot’s page on canned cheese, and MRE Depot’s review.

I would be willing to organize additional pick-up locations (such as Kaysville and Southern Utah County) if there us sufficient interest.

I did a taste test and a cooking test with this butter. Here are pictures/results: http://iprepared.blogspot.com/2009/06/taste-tes…

Thanks, Wendy. The more positive reviews I keep reading the more excited I am to add this to my stores.

I have both of these items in my food storage. The butter tastes fantastic. I have no reservations recommending it. The cheese is alright. I would put the taste between American cheese and a very, very mild cheddar.

I bought a can of the cheese at WinCo today to try it. It was $3.67. They also had the butter but I didn't note the price. It is in the food storage section. It looks like your group buy was a good deal.
