I used the propane option this weekend with my 12 inch dutch oven. I was not pleased with it. Because you are not able to control the oxygen/propane mixuture, you get a large uncontroable yellow flame which creates alot of black soot. The soot greatly increased when I attempted to get a low flame in order to keep the temp. down around 350 F.
If you want just heat from the stove, this propane attachment will work fine. For cooking prepare to have your pots covered in a thick black soot.

If you will open the air vent on you propane burner, (the round disk held in place with a wing screw) you will get a blue flame instead of the inefficient orange flame that your photo shows. I could find no instructions for this procedure; not even in the instruction for assembly of the propane unit.

Put 2 cups of water in your dutch oven and determine the boil pattern to get the best heat distribution pattern.
My 12 inch dutch oven worked best, sitting directly on the propane unit.

My propane valve would gradually open allowing increased gas flow and increased heat. I was able to solve the problem with a gentle tightening of the crown nut on the valve. If the system has a weakness, it is this valve. Just be aware, or you may charcoal your chicken.
